Still don't know what Scott Joplin's "the entertainer" had to do with it or why they used it as the title theme.)īut I haven't heard of Evolution. I'm quite impressed by that game to this day. I was beginning to think I'd dreamt the weird thing up.īut I had Bouncing Babies as well (what a kooky idea for a game, huh?) and 3Demon (Really well done. Wow! I didn't know anybody else had ever even heard of Pango.

Since I can see that the DOS Games Archive doesn't like hotlinked images, I'll just post the links for Bouncing Babies and 3-Demon (a 3-D version of Pacman from 1983). Another such awesome one is 'Evolution,' where you go through a progression of levels from amoeba to frog, mouse, beaver (as which you must avoid the crocodiles), gorilla and then finally human (where you have to avoid being shot by the robots, from which there is to my knowledge no escape). Pango! I would have posted a picture of that had I been able to find one. I'll pop into this thread again though, I guarentee! I'll include them here because it did run an old version of MS DOS. We had some interesting and Bizarre games for that old machine. I think XTs had hard drives, which this one definitely did not. If you give me time, I can come up with a lot more.īut getting back the that old XT (although I don't think it was an actual XT. Let's not forget all the adventure games (mostly from Lucasarts) like Monkey Island I and II, Day of the Tentacle (a serious contender for my favourite game of all time), Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Hugo's house of Horrors I, II and III - #2 might be of interest to you, Kieran, as it has a big Doctor Who reference in it.

Wolfenstein 3D is special to me for the same reason.ĭuke Nukem and Monster Bash were also very good action platformers that I was particularly fond of. Number 4 was probably my favourite, but I've got a soft spot for number 1 as well as it was one of the first video games I ever played on a 386, as opposed to the old XT we had for years. I'd include Ultima VII, but I haven't really played it enough to have put it amongst my all-time favourites.īut I recently played some Commander Keen again as well. Although I've generally gotten over RPGs, I'll never get over the Ultima series, particularly Ultima VI and the two Ultima Underworlds.
